Project Details
Evolved By Nature, formerly known as Silk Inc., faced the challenge of communicating their invisible yet revolutionary technology—pure liquid silk protein—to partners and the public. This innovation offers a non-toxic alternative to harmful petrochemicals across industries, but its benefit is impossible to see. So we built a brand about the invisible, designed from cues that make you stop and notice.
We rebranded the company as Evolved By Nature, a name that integrates seamlessly with partner brands (e.g., Nike*Evolved By Nature), emphasizing collaboration and a shared commitment to sustainability. That asterisk became the brand itself: a small signal that there's more here than meets the eye — a cue to stop and look closer.
Nature meeting science was represented by a custom variable typeface that evolves between sans to serif and bold to light. The flexibility of the typeface enables the brand to show up differently as it grows to meet the many different industries it will serve.
The approach paid off: Chanel became the first large-scale fashion house to back Evolved By Nature, partnering to explore sustainable, high-quality fabric innovation.
